Welcome to ELEVEN Australia, a hair and body care brand, that uses high performing ingredients to create simple and easy-to-use products.
It’s important to us that all our products are globally compliant. Our products are created to the highest of standards with our chemists and regulatory teams to ensure that they are safe, high performing and in line with each country’s legislation and regulations.
We’re PETA approved cruelty-free, paraben-free, RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certified and offer a range of both gluten free and vegan options.
SUSTAINABILITY & OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Our bottles, tubs and cans are 100% recyclable, the way you recycle these will differ by region, so always best to check your local guidelines. Where possible we have made steps to help reduce our carbon footprint. This is a major focus for us, and in 2021 we are looking forward to launching some exciting sustainability innovations around our packaging. Our shampoos, conditioners and styling products will all be made from a new sustainable material
– stay tuned for more. We’re not totally there yet but we’re well on the way and have currently
made some great steps towards our goals!
For example through our research, development and testing practices we utilise ECOHEAD showerheads to wash and rinse products in hair. ECOHEAD products use half the amount of water than conventional shower heads which helps contribute to a reduction in energy, water and power usage.
We also do our best to partner with suppliers who are committed to reducing their environmental impact.
Where possible our suppliers make conscious efforts to:
• Reduce plastic use
• Utilise recycled or recyclable packaging
• Use biodegradable packaging
• Use solar energy
• Reduce water consumption
Here are some other amazing sustainability initiatives from our partners and suppliers:
In an effort to reduce environmental impact one of our brush suppliers planted grass on the roof of their factory complex. This grass specifically needs less water irrigation and greatly aids in sheltering the factory from heat
– resulting in the lowering of indoor temperatures and the need for air cooling equipment and electricity.
Our European print supplier is one of only three Cradle to Cradle certified printing companies in the world.
Cradle to Cradle is an environmental certification guaranteeing that a product does not pollute and
does not consume the Earth’s resources, becoming part of the natural cycle after use.
The idea is to invent and produce products that can be used over and over again, resulting
in products that don’t generate waste and are non toxic to humans or the environment.
All of our products are cruelty free and PETA approved (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)
and we proudly support Beauty without Bunnies.
EU law no longer allows companies to use the bunny or cruelty free logo on packaging as it is illegal to test on animals. As our products are sold globally we have removed these symbols to ensure that our packaging is universal.
It is also a non-negotiable that we have the correct documentation from all of our suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that each individual ingredient in our range is sourced ethically and not harmful to any animals in the process.
We strive to offer as many vegan products as possible. The exception are the products that contain silk amino acids from silk worms, lanolin from sheep’s wool and wax from bees. All these ingredients help us provide you with products that perform exceptionally well and we’re pleased to say that none of the animals are harmed in the process. Studies have shown that animal farming can contribute up to 60% more greenhouse emissions, producing vegan products help avoid this impact.
ELEVEN Australia is proud to reduce our environmental footprint wherever possible and offering an extensive range of vegan products allows us to do this.
On its own, palm oil is not an ingredient we use in our products, however a handful of other ingredients we use contain palm oil. For these ingredients, we obtain a RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) Certificate from the supplier to ensure it is produced without environmental damage. This certifies that the palm oil used is always sourced from sustainable palm farms.
Performance is always a priority for us when we decide to bring a product to market. If it doesn’t perform then that’s no good to anyone, right? We use manufacturers all over the world including Australia, Sweden, China, Korea, USA & Italy, so depending on where we can source the best available product & ingredients from is where we will manufacture.
We also consider shipping when choosing where we manufacture. We want your products to always be available when you need them as much as you do!
As an example, did you know that freight shipping from Australia to the EU can take up to 2 ½ months or longer? We can dramatically close this gap by using our trusted manufacturers around the world, which also helps us to greatly reduce our carbon footprint at the same time. That’s a win-win. Have more stock on hand you might ask? Well, that’s an option too, but it means we carry inventory for longer and that runs the risk of expiring sooner. We want to ensure our products are as fresh as possible for you.
Manufacturing is a tricky business and in this ever-changing world, we will continue trying to bring you only the best performing products in the quickest amount of time with the least amount of environmental impact.
GOOD MANUFACTURING PROCESSES
We ensure that our manufacturers have their Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate to guarantee the quality and ethical production of all our products.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is an international system that ensures quality standards for cosmetics.
These guidelines ensure quality practices and reproducibility across the production, control, storage and shipping
of products. All elements within these production stages are vetted including: people, premises, processes,
products and procedures.
STYLE FOR LIFE
Make a change bigger than a hairstyle with ELEVEN Australia X Style for Life!
Each year during Style For Life month we donate $1 from every bottle of ELEVEN Australia Miracle Hair Treatment sold worldwide at participating ELEVEN Australia salons to Hagar Australia.
Since it’s inception in Australia in 2013, we have raised over AUD $300,000 for Hagar Australia through Style for Life, sponsoring countless women through their Economic Empowerment Program. We’re proud to support this initiative globally by raising much needed funds for women and children.
ELEVEN AUSTRALIA X HAPPY BOXES PROJECT
We’re HAPPY to be partnering with Happy Boxes Project, helping to empower women through alleviating the barriers of accessing basic needs in the remote corners of Australia. Women in our own backyard are going without basic toiletries and we agree with Happy Boxes Project that this is unacceptable. Click here to see the amazing work they do and join us and “give a little happy”.
