Freedom to reconnect with each other, to touch and feel the warmth of friends and family and to reunite with those we love – the images and video for the [PEOPLE] 2021 Campaign celebrates the feeling of happiness.
Our co-creative directors, Andrew O’Toole and Joey Scandizzo, along with the ELEVEN Australia crew and a cast of models, the 2021 [PEOPLE] Campaign takes a moment to remind us of the beauty of letting your hair down, having fun and reconnecting. Since this campaign is centred all-around happiness, we asked our models a few questions including how they felt being a part of the [PEOPLE] Campaign and what makes them happy!
LUCY. COCO. ARABELLA.
“It was fun getting to work with my sister Kaylah! We have been wanting to do it for so long and finally, we did. We had so much fun 🙂 – and – My dog (Kodak) makes me happy. He’s literally my life. I will do anything for him; he doesn’t fail to make me laugh with his goofiness. ,” BILLIE (PICTURED RIGHT), Model, Twin, Painter and mum to Kodak.

“During lockdown in Melbourne, Australia, creatives were mostly left feeling pretty neglected and distant from their craft. This shoot felt like a beautiful celebration of our industry. It was such a joy to be surrounded by other creatives who were so eager to get back to collaborating and making art. While it had been so long, there was a great sense of familiarity, warmth and family.” Coco, Model and Music Lover
“I felt embraced and supported in my decision to represent women who wear Hijab who also have hair – a lot of luscious hair – that need to be seen (figuratively haha) and heard by brands when they discuss hair care. I loved how diverse the talent was – from skin tones to hair texture and ethnic backgrounds – I wish to see more of this celebrated in Australian campaigns.” HANAN
“Representation is crucial and I was blown away that a hair brand would include and represent women like me – the often-ignored and misunderstood in society who choose to cover their hair but like everyone else care for and style it.”
HANAN LOVES + USES
– I SCRUNCH A LEAVE-IN CURL CREAM AND A SERUM INTO MY HAIR AND LET IT AIR DRY SO MY CURLS STAY LUSH FOR UP TO 4 DAYS. I ALSO USE A TREATMENT AND LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER ONCE A MONTH. BECAUSE I WEAR A HIJAB, I MAKE SURE THAT MY HAIRLINE BREATHES AND OPT FOR SILK OR SATIN CAPS/SCARVES/TURBANS TO PREVENT BREAKAGE AND CONTROL FRIZZ –
“The MAKE ME SHINE SPRAY GLOSS for the obvious reason that it makes my hair so so shiny but also obsessed with the way it smells. I find that my hair also loves treatments that help control frizz! I like to style my hair pretty straight so I’ve been using the MIRACLE HAIR TREATMENT after every wash and my hair’s looking way smoother!” Ina, Model and Bookworm
“The [PEOPLE] campaign is a reflection of our current moment and is fundamentally a product of what the world is going through right now. Having spent more of our time at home last year than ever before, the need for physical connection with people (not just digitally) is what everyone (including me and Joey) are craving.” Andrew O’Toole, co-creative director, ELEVEN Australia and campaign photographer.
“I always love campaign time because it allows me to work with lots of hair texture and play around with different finishes. It really gives me the opportunity to showcase our products, what they’re designed to do, and perform!” Joey Scandizzo, co-creative director,
